Community Service
Over winter break, I had the opportunity to create a community service project for the care to cure organization. This organization raises awareness for childhood cancer. The founder of care to cure and I sat down and decided to make an art project for kids. For each day during the weekend we hosted 5-12 year olds and gave them a theme. This was 2 and a half hours per day. We put the children into groups with a different theme, for example space or the mountains. After this 2 day program their art was put together and framed. This artwork was auctioned off and made over $1000 for the organization. I watched over the children, gave them the art supplies and gave them instructions. It was a very rewarding process.
